Reproductive Health and Rights

Despite appalling poverty and starvation, Afghan women face a lack of health services putting their lives in danger. Sexual and reproductive health needs have spiraled for women and girls since the Taliban takeover in August 2021, with restricted access to services and limited freedom of movement. This situation increased the rate of maternal mortalities.

HRWMO supports health, legal, and psychological services for pregnant women, and survivors of GBV in emergency settings through a survivor-centered approach by equipping and training hard-to-reach groups, and caseworkers offer individualized, ongoing assistance to help survivors recover from traumatic incidents and receive help based on their needs and choices.
