It is essential to promote a culture of intolerance towards gender-based violence in every sector of society. There are numerous pressing issues contributing to violence, including food shortages, unemployment, economic challenges, restrictions on women's employment, closures of educational institutions, and the increasing severity of these sanctions. These conditions have raised significant concerns regarding the safety and well-being of Afghan women and girls. The consequences of violence against women and girls—whether sexual, psychological, or physical—are alarming, as they hinder these individuals from fully participating in society. Human Rights Watch and Media Organization emphasize that violence not only impacts the individuals who experience it but also has detrimental effects on their families and the wider community. We urge the Islamic Emirate, the international community, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to take serious and decisive action to end violence against women and girls and to address the dire situation faced by many in accordance with Islamic law.#violenceagainstwomenstopshere#genderbasedviolenceawareness#genderequality#womenparticipation#afghangirlseducationright ... Afghanistan is extremely vulnerable to the effects of climate change. At the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Afghan women representatives were overlooked despite being on the frontlines of climate change and facing its most severe impacts. Extreme heat and climate-related disasters have particularly devastating effects on women and girls. The consequences of climate change put Afghan women at risk of higher rates of stillbirths and miscarriages, while increasing food insecurity leads to malnutrition, jeopardizing both maternal and newborn health. Additionally, as livelihoods deteriorate and stress levels rise, incidents of gender-based violence and child marriage are on the rise.Human Rights Watch and Media Organization are dedicated to raising awareness about the potential consequences of climate change for Afghan women. Although Afghanistan is not a significant contributor to climate change, it is still highly vulnerable and negatively impacted by its effects.#sustainabledevelopmentgoals#COP29Azerbaijan#ClimateAction ...
